How to find your PF UAN Number?

In recent years, the EPFO or Employee’s Provident Fund Organization has been working hard for the betterment of the people by making all of its services digitally sound. One of the essential elements for you to access your PF details online is to possess an active UAN (Universal Account Number) that will help you in finding all your PF details at ease.

The concept of possessing an active UAN is to make sure that you use only one PF account and not multiple to avoid any discrepancies or confusion. It doesn’t matter if you are changing jobs frequently or have several PF accounts, the UAN number remains the same.

You can work under several employers who have their PF account numbers, but the UAN number that will be allocated to you will stay the same always. So, once you have a received a UAN number from EPFO office, you will have to ensure that you give the same number to your employers when changing jobs.

When you are changing your employer, you will have to share the UAN number with your new employer so that they can transfer the funds from your previous employer’s PF account to a new PF account.

All these aspects can only take place when you know your UAN number. If you don’t know your UAN number yet and have been working for years now, then there are two options left for you: either you will have to get in touch with your employer and ask for the UAN details, or you will have to figure out yourself by logging into the EPFO portal.

How can you figure out your UAN number?

Here are some necessary steps that will help you in finding your UAN details online:

Step 1: To find out the UAN details, you will have to visit the official portal of UAN by clicking on the link.

Step 2: Once you have clicked on the link, you will have to click on the “Know your UAN Status” option that is available in the ‘important links’ section.

Step 3: Once clicked, it will redirect you to another webpage where it will ask you to enter your beneficial details that include current Member Identification Number or the EPF account number of your current employer, your name as mentioned in the EPF account, Date of Birth, contact number, and email ID.

Note** You can find your EPF Member Identification Number on your monthly salary slip of your current employer.

Step 4: Once you have submitted all these necessary details, you will be getting an authorization PIN on your registered contact number. Therefore, you must register your contact details with your present employer and instruct them to update the same in your EPF account from their end.

Step 5: Once you have entered the authorization PIN, you will be receiving a text message in your registered contact number and email ID where you can find your UAN number.

This is a simple procedure that you can follow to find details about your UAN. Once you have obtained your UAN number, you can register yourself in the UAN Member Portal and update your KYC details.
